Before

Part of the reason I decided to run a marathon is to help take off a few (well hopefully more than a few) of the pounds I have gained in the last few months. Life has been a bit of a struggle lately. I have had lots of disappointments and too many good-byes. I had not even noticed but I stopped working out and starting eating a lot more. I am an eater. When things get difficult I reach for the Easy Cheese! Now my plan is to reach for my running shoes instead.

Decisions, decisions

Today out of the blue I decided to sign up for a marathon. I choose the Santa Barbara marathon, commencing on Nov. 6th. This should give me plenty of time to train, right?!?!? I guess only time will tell.

I am basically going from couch to marathon runner in 23 weeks. We will see how that works out. I will start my actual training tomorrow with a three mile run in the morning and another three mile run in the evening.
